What’s happening down on the farm? The backstroke, the side stroke and the butterfly. It’s amazing to me that any of us small local farmers have much of anything to offer at this point. With over 20 extra inches of rain so far this year, I’m wishing that we had planted some rice! Most of the fall produce is attempting to grow in the mud and some is pretty surprising. I was checking out the sugar snap peas yesterday and they seem to be doing quite well. In my opinion the taste of many things have been compromised by all the rain. Our tomatoes have started waving the white flag and are about done. As it began to rain again this afternoon, I found myself using some expletives I haven’t used in years. I may have even made up some new ones. It felt good…..
