A quick note concerning last week’s email…the female swimmers from Philly decided not to come use the pool. The spokesmodel said they found something closer. I wasn’t shocked. Oddly enough, not really, many of the male customers in the market last weekend were quite curious how that all worked out. I thought it was a a long distance to travel just to swim around in a pool for a couple of hours. We’ll never know if there was more to it. Que Sera Sera.
We have been able to work overtime and on farmhands days off to get most of the fall planting done. When you drive down to the farm you’ll see a lot of the white plastic mulch where fall plants and seeds have been planted. Things like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, turnips, potatoes, collards, fennel, spinach, lettuce etc. in the ground to be ready to harvest this fall. Summer still reigns supreme in the market at the moment. This Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10-6 we will have:
Red Bell Peppers
Hot Wax Peppers
Red and Gold Beets
Fresh Dug Carrots
Yukon Gold Potatoes
Pork From Crooked Creek Farm
Also, if you have any extra grocery bags laying around the homestead, we could recycle them for you by using them in the market.
