In our quest for proper licensing for our seasonal market, we learned that we had to have 10 acres or more to sell products from other farms and vendors. We have 6 acres. Since I don’t want to be thrown in jail for selling a jar of pickles at my age, it’s time to recalibrate. So, here’s the deal. We will not be able to open our market for anything other than items grown here. I think most of you have known that in our market we invited other local growers and vendors to add some volume and variety. The plan is to keep our self serve market open for honey and eggs 7 days a week and as things come in from our fields, add them in. We’re thinking about bringing back our egg delivery route that we had years ago. I will give you details on that next week.
This whole thing kind of takes us full circle to where we began many years ago and honestly, we’re good with that.
We currently have (all organically grown) strawberries, scallions, red leaf lettuce, arugula, radishes, asparagus, spinach, green kale, red russian kale and the ever popular garlic scapes.
