Howdy Farm Friends,
It’s really feeling like spring! My body is really feeling like spring too! As I sit here writing this update, I have an ice pack on my foot, an ice pack on my back and an ice pack on the top of my head. I don’t really need the one on my head, but figured I would complete the ensemble. Yes, work has begun in earnest around the farm. The new laying chickens have begun laying there small eggs. We have got the set up in the barn already for the new meat chicks that arrive next week and various things are getting planted. Even though we are teaming up with Flying Plow farm for delicious organic produce this year, we will still be growing a few things ourselves too.
We begin being open Saturdays 10-6 today. We will continue to be open all day Saturday and will add more days open as we continue our quest to get into the season a bit deeper. Probably by the middle to end of May we will be open our regular hours Thursday-Sunday. Today we will be stocked with:
Red Russian Kale
A complete list of pastured pork products from Crooked Creek Farm
Ground beef, NY strips, sirloin and Delmonico steaks, chipped steak, stew beef, London broil and chuck roast from Flying Plow Farm’s grass fed and grass finished beef
Eggs-Duck and Goose too!
We are sold out of our chicken, but should have our first batch ready by the end of May.
Also, Crooked Creek has hams for Easter. They are around 5 pound hams that sell for $8.50/pound. Let’s us know if you’re interested.
See you soon!
Steve and Vicky
