Corn has Come

Hi Everyone,

If I do say so myself, the farm is looking really good.  I feel we have finally caught up with planting, harvesting, organization, upkeep etc. I’m not sure if you knew about my world famous butt injury when I ripped my Piriformis muscle.  I really couldn’t do much of anything for a couple of months.  That, along with the very difficult spring weather, made for a tough time.  Thanks to my wife and love of my life Vicky and farmhands Tina, Harvey, Amy, Gavin, Matt, Ahmed, Girl Wonder Natalia, Christine, Stephanie, Dr. Bruce, Pat and Dave.  All of them have helped so much.

Ok, before I begin to tear up….We have CORN, CORN, CORN for the weekend!!  Now we wait for our tomatoes. Late getting in and flooded with rain for weeks, the tomatoes have made a startling comeback and I would say we are a couple weeks away.

Our fresh batch of chicken is available now. While it’s fresh, not frozen, feel free to visit the farm any day this week to purchase.  The chicken will go in the freezer Saturday.

Our market is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday 10-6 each day.  If you can’t make it to the farm, DELIVERY is available Thursday evening. Our market and delivery menu this week:

Sweet Corn (only available in market)
Blueberries (from Little Buck Organic Farm, ours are done)
Sweet Onions
Cucumbers-slicing and pickling
Asian Cucumbers (long and thin less seeds)
Yellow Squash
Zucchini-Green and Yellow
Zephyr Summer Squash(a bit sweeter)
Lemon Summer Squash(looks like a lemon, tastes like a squash)
Cabbage
Romaine Lettuce (heads)
Green Beans
Yellow Wax Beans
Swiss Chard
Red Russian Kale
Collard Greens
Herbs-Parsley, Various Basils, Thyme, Sage, Oregano, Various Mints
Red and Yukon Gold Potatoes
Red and Gold Beets
Scallions
Honey-1, 2 and 3 pound containers
Eggs
Duck Eggs
Chicken (whole)
Chicken Livers and Necks (feet and hearts sold)
Pork-From Crooked Creek Farm, Pylesville. Chops, Ribs, Sausages, Keilbasa etc…

We’re hoping to have Peaches next week!

Just a reminder…Yoga on the Farm tonight at 6:30 and Sunday morning at 9:30 and if those pesky family or visitors from out of town are planning on taking up your patience and house space, feel free to send them to the Rousedale Farm Airbnb.  We have some openings in August and September.
